Since founding my business in 2004, I have dedicated myself to assisting athletes to achieve their objectives through a boutique-style approach that marries sports massage and Active Release Techniques with other facets of the athlete’s training. My reputation is of working with seriously-minded athletes who seek to benefit from the broad array of my experience.
My focus is on providing the athlete with the recovery and injury prevention needed to ensure that your body is operating at the highest level possible. I know that athletes demand a great deal from their bodies, so to meet that demand, the body needs consistent and specific maintenance and treatment.
The mind also needs consistent and specific maintenance and treatment and for this reason I have enrolled in a PhD program of Mind-Body Medicine Practice at Saybrook University to study and articulate how the mind informs the body in terms of both the athlete’s training and performance. My dissertation is centered on conscious breathing, heart rate and body temperature which are integral to biofeedback, mental rehearsal and lucid dreaming and how these five can enhance performance.
Georgetown Sports Massage
Georgetown Sports Massage has been operating in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area since 2004. I engage in several thousand individual treatment sessions per year, mostly on athletes at all levels, and I have developed a highly effective combination of Active Release Techniques (ART), Active Isolated Stretching (AIS), deep tissue, and sports massage for absolute stress and tension relief to help an athlete stay injury-free and recover quicker. I also combine mental techniques and biofeedback to further enhance the athlete’s training.
