Over the last couple of months I have spent consistent time in the pool. I feel that as a result of some brilliant coaching and my own consistent effort, I have become a decent swimmer but with technique to master. I enjoy my time in the water. In fact, I think that currently, I am a better swimmer than I am a runner. I have gained weight since my surgery and I am not fast on the asphalt. This is my altered self. I still hope to train for and run another marathon or more. I have much work to do; pounds to take off, and consistent miles to accumulate. Mindfulness and thinking under water is natural for me swimming back and back from side to side. This is where I do my best thinking now. It is my liminal space.
