Last night I did not sleep well.I woke up at 1 and then 2 and then had a fitful rest of the night. Sleep is the basis of any training program for the athlete. Once sleep is compromised, the rest of the program will be effected. I have been trying to loose the weight I gained since I have not been able to run and then since my surgery. I weigh myself every Sunday morning and I gained a couple of pounds this past week. I was disappointed in myself because I have been keeping track of my macronutrients. I just need to start over again tomorrow morning. I find that if I eat after 8pm, my sleep is compromised. Mindfulness comes in listening to your body and making those choices that will benefit in the long run. Mindfulness is really seeing the end point where you are trying to move towards. Mindfulness is accepting that the path really is the destination.
