Yesterday I choose to explore Reiki with my injured running buddy and running coach. I went out on my back porch and was alone with nature. I went through the experience I had been exposed to in my Reiki training and offered up an intent where my injured running buddy would be able to run with me this morning as we have done for the past couple of months running our long runs Saturday morning. She texted me this morning asking if she could withdraw. Today will be another rest day since we have both been experiencing slight niggles. Mindfulness comes with accepting the wisdom of not engaging, seeing the end from the beginning if possible. In my case, being able to show up at my October marathon injury free. Mindfulness also comes with having an intent to positively make a difference and then accepting the outcome. Mindfulness can also come with using energies like Reiki to help heal injury. I remain grateful for the skills and qualities I am learning in this regard.
