Today is a rest day, a day off from running. I woke up this morning and went to sit on my back porch and put my hands in the Gassho position and repeated out-loud the following words. “Just for today, I’ll not be angry. Just for today, I’ll not worry. Just for today, I’ll be grateful. Just for today, I’ll do my inner and outer work. Just for today, I’ll show loving kindness to all living things.” Mindfulness and Reiki go hand in hand for the athlete because being present in the moment is where flow occurs.
